The Lord of the Rings (The Fellowship of the Ring) is the first movie in a trilogy depicted from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. The Fellowship of the Ring begins with a prolog of events that lead to the resurrection of the Dark Lord Sauron and his previous demise at the hands of the inhabitants of Middle-earth.
Sauron gave the inhabitants of Middle-earth rings of power to govern each race. Nine rings were given to mankind; seven rings were given to the Dwarf Lords and five were given to the race of Elves. However, Sauron had a different plan for the inhabitants of Middle-earth. He made in secret a master ring that could control each race that was governed by their masters who beard the false gifts of Sauron.
Eventually, the inhabitants of Middle-earth were driven to the point of defeat by the armies of Sauron. One by one each race fell to the might of the Ring of Power. A last stand was made by an alliance of Elf and Men which bravely fought and defeated Sauron and his army. The ring was lost for two and a half thousand years and eventually found by a creature named Gollum. The ring drove Gollum mad and the Ring of Power was eventually lost again.
The ring was once again found by a creature called a Hobbit, his name was Bilbo Baggins of the Shire. Bilbo kept the ring in secret until his one hundred and eleventh birthday celebration and passed the ring on to his nephew Frodo Baggins also of the Shire. Bilbo reluctantly gave up the ring to Frodo before he began his journey to Rivendell the Elf kingdom. Gandalf, a wizard and friends to Bilbo and Frodo had to gently persuade Bilbo to forfeit his beloved precious to its new bearer Frodo Baggins of the Shire.
Inevitably, the Dark Lord Sauron resurrected some of his strength and began re-building his fortress in Mordor and an army to vanquish the inhabitant of Middle-earth. To make the resurrection of Sauron complete, he needed the ring of power. So he encompassed spies and creatures called Ringwraiths to hunt down and destroy the ring bearer and bring back his beloved Ring of Power.
The Ringwraiths found out who the new ring bearer was thanks to the help of Gollum who was tortured mercilessly by the hand of Sauron's servants. Under extreme torture, Gollum, uttered the name of the ring bearer, Baggins and he also uttered the word Shire, which gave the location of the ring bearer. Gandalf urged Frodo to leave the Shire at once and meet him at the Inn of The Prancing Pony. Frodo and another Hobbit named Sam set off for the town of Bree to meet Gandalf. Along the way they met two more Hobbits, Merry and Pippin who were stealing food from the farmer Maggots fields.
Along their journey the Hobbits encountered the Ringwraiths and narrowly escaped their grasp. The Frodo and his band friend made it to the Inn only to be disappointed by the absence of their close friend Gandalf. While at the Inn, Frodo mistakenly put the ring of power on his finger and gave their location away to Sauron who in turn sent his demonic soldiers the Ringwraiths after the Hobbits once again.
Luckily while at the Inn, Frodo encountered one of Gandalf's closest ally, a man named Aragorn. Aragorn hid Frodo and his companions from their hunters the Ringwraiths and began leading them to a place of refuge, Rivendell, the Elf kingdom. While on their journey to Rivendell, the Hobbits and Aragorn encountered the Ringwraiths. Frodo was injured during the encounter as the Ringwraiths tried to return the Ring of Power to its master Sauron. Frodo was gravely injured during the battle and was slowly drifting into the after world. The wound was slowly turning Frodo into a Ringwraith. To be continued...
