Time was running out and options were limited for Frodo. For he was slipping ever so deeply into the land of the undead. Fortunately, Frodo and his companions encountered the Elf Princess Arwen who was deeply in love with Aragorn and was the only person who could safe Frodo from the clutches of darkness. Arwen gathered Frodo upon her horse and sped to Rivendell to see her father king Elrond who was a great healer and who could save Frodo from his terrible fate.
Arwen outlasted the Ringwraiths in a perilous journey to her kingdom by vanquishing her enemy and delivering Frodo to her father just as Frodo took his last breath. Frodo made a full recovery from his injuries thanks to the healing powers of Lord Elrond and was reunited with his friends: Sam, Merry, Pippin and Gandalf. Gandalf was detained for a while after he battled Saruman, who was in charge of Gandalf's wizardry order.
While Frodo was enjoying a full recovery of his adventure, Lord Elrond called together a meeting of all the inhabitants of Middle-earth: Man, Elf and Dwarf to unite the realm for war and to prepare for what has to be done to the Ring of Power.
All members of the council were in disagreement as to what needed to be done to the ring and as to who was going to be the leader of a perilous journey that would lead to the destruction of the Ring of Power. Frodo volunteered to take the ring to Mordor and cast the ring into the fire of Mount Doom so as to destroy the ring forever. Others volunteered and soon there were nine companions for the treacherous journey and a fellowship was forged. The Fellowship consisted of an Elf named Legolas, a dwarf named Gimli, two humans Aragon and Boromir, Gandalf and Frodo's three Hobbit companions Sam, Merry and Pippin.
Frodo showed exceptional courage which lead to the fellowship of the ring being forged. The journey lead he Fellowship to the Misty Mountains were Saruman had spies guarding all passages to Mordor. Eventually the Fellowship had to take journey into the dark abyss of the Misty Mountain after much encouragement by Gimli the dwarf. Gimli's cousin, a dwarf, named Balin, who was master of Moria and would welcome his cousin and give food and shelter to the Fellowship.
As the Fellowship entered the mountain all they could see was darkness and a foul smelling odor consumed their being. Gimli's cousin Balin and all his subjects were ravaged and mutilated by the Goblins who also lived in the mountain and who were patiently waiting for an opportunity to strike deep into the heart of the dwarf kingdom. As the Fellowship was about to leave the mines of Moria, they were attacked by a monster and driven back into the mines.
The fellowship had no choice but to travel through Moria to reach their destination. As the fellowship was traveling through the mines of Moria they were attacked by an army of Goblins and a Cave Troll. They companions defeated the first wave of the attack and Frodo was subdued by the Cave Troll. The Fellowship was devastated; all members of the Fellowship had thought Frodo had fallen in battle. But Frodo had been wearing a protective amour called Mithril that prevented his demise.
After the battle the Fellowship encountered Gandalf's greatest fear a Balrog. The Balrog is an ancient fire demon that can only be stopped by sorcery. The Balrogs were in origin created from the order of Maiar. This was the same order that Sauron and Gandalf were from. In appearance, the Balrogs were man-like and fire streamed from their bodies. They were cloaked in dark shadows and carried whips of flame that instilled great terror in friends as well as their foes. This Balrog was one of only a few that survived the first great battle for Middle-Earth. As the creature neared, Gandalf choose Aragon to lead the Fellowship as he was about to battle a creature of equal force. Gandalf battled the creature valiantly and forced the Balrog to plummet off the Bridge of Khazad-dum into a bottomless pit. However, the Balrog also caused Gandalf to fall and together Gandalf and the Balrog plummeted into the dark of the abyss... Continued...The Fellowship Part III.
