The Return Of The Kings Part III

King

The journey continues...

Sam thought Frodo was dead. Frodo was lifeless and Sam yearned to be with his Master. Then suddenly Sam heard Orcs close by. Fearing for his life Sam left Frodo's body along the path to Mount Doom. The Orcs found Frodo's body and knew Shelob had struck. The Orcs took Frodo back to their liar and started fighting over his possessions. The Orcs knew that Frodo was not dead but only stunned and would be fine until he awoke from his slumber. Then he would have wished that he was dead.

Sam rescued Frodo from the tower after the Orcs turned on one another, fighting over Frodo's possessions. Sam had secretly taken the One Ring when he thought Frodo was dead and with some reluctance gave it back to Frodo. And so the two Hobbits once again ascended to Mount Doom. The battle of Pelennor Fields was not going well for Gondor.

The Orcs were unleashing all their legions upon Minis Thirtieth. The Wring Wraiths were sacking all of Gondor's archers and causing great panic amongst the soldiers. As night fell the Orcs brought out the battering rams and shattered the gates of Minis Thirtieth. The Orcs were washing into the White City like the black pelage. The Orcs were killing all in their path without mercy.

The Orcs were using Trolls and everything that Sauron had devised for war. It was looking bad for Minis Thirtieth until the Rohan Riders showed up. King Theoden led a charge that scared even the bravest Orc. The Rohan Warriors cut through the lines of the Orc defenses like a hot knife going through butter. The Orcs were in total disarray and being slaughtered. Then, just as when the Rohan worriers tasted victories a brigade of elephant riders were unleashed upon the Rohan warriors.

The Rohan riders were not faring well against these strange beasts. This led to King Theoden regrouping his forces but suddenly, he was attached by the Witch King of the Nazguls. Eowyn, Theoden's niece stopped the Nazguls advance. She and Pippin had been riding together and were know face to face with a creature that no mortal man could kill. Pippin stabbed the Witch King after he was on the verge of defeating Eowyn. Eowyn then killed the Witch King with a mighty blow to the face and he melted into dust. Eowyn then assisted Theoden with his last moments for her uncle perished from his broken body.

As Theoden perished the Orcs thought they were getting reinforcements from the Men of the North. Ships were docking at the Gondor port. But, it was Aragon and his army of ghosts. The ghosts destroyed every last enemy of Gondor in Pelennor Fields and in Minis Thirtieth. The ghosts fulfilled their oaths and were released from the services of Aragorn. Frodo and Sam needed some time to get by the armies of Mordor so the last remaining forces of Middle-earth assaulted the gates of Mordor.

Frodo and Sam had their opening to get through Mordor without being seen by Sauron. Frodo and Sam clawed and crawled their way to the entry point of Mount Doom were the Ring of Power was created. They were unfortunately attacked by Gollum as they inched closer to their goal. Sam took over the fight while Frodo made his way into Mount Doom. Aragorn and his soldiers were fighting bravely, buying Frodo the time that was needed to end Sauron's power once and for all. Sam briefly defeated Gollum and ran to the aid of Frodo.

Frodo decided he wanted to keep the ring for the ring had corrupted Frodo's soul. Gollum attacked Sam and Frodo as Frodo put on the ring. This gave away their position to Sauron who knew that the ring was right under his nose. Gollum wrestled the ring away from Frodo by biting off Frodo's ring finger. As the two ring bearers were fighting during their final confrontation, both Gollum and Frodo lost their balance and both ring bearers plunged into the fires of Mount Doom. Gollum fell into the molt lava and was dead and so was the ring of Power. Sauron and his life force died the instant the Ring of Power dissolved back into its original state.

Frodo managed to hang on the edge of the cliff and was saved by Sam. Frodo and Sam left Mount Doom and were stranded on molten rocks. Frodo and Sam thought they were done for and reflected on their lives and each determined that if they had a second chance that they would live life differently. However as all hope faded they were rescued by Gandalf and the Eagles. Frodo was taken to Minis Thirtieth to recover from his wounds and to witness the coronation of the new king of Gondor, Aragorn.

During Aragon's coronation Arwen attended and united with Aragorn. After the celebration the hobbits ventured back to the Shire and started leading new lives. Frodo finished his part of a book, Sam married Rosie and all was well or all seemed well. The last boat was leaving for the Gray Heavens and Bilbo was leaving Middle-earth with Lord Elrond and Galadriel. As Bilbo was boarding the last ship for the Grey Havens, Gandalf called to Frodo and asked if he too was ready to board the ship. This news stunned Pippin, Merry and Sam.

They knew not of Frodo's departure to the Grey Havens. All were very saddened by the loss of their friend, but Frodo told them that his time was up and that Sam, Merry and Pippin had lives to live and that they should continue on with their story. And so, Sam arrived back home to Rosie and lived his life with the ones whom he loved, for he never forgot his year long journey saving Middle-earth. This and the other stories are the movie versions and not the book versions. The End
